Besides being a magazine feature-writer (in both UK and Malta) for almost thirty years, Eileen Ellis publish her first book, “Maltese Memories” in April 1986 -when first a regular visitor and soon a resident of the island.  She was also editor for the British Residents’ Association Magazine for three years.  This poem is taken from her second poetry book of “tongue-in-cheek” verse – shows her sense of humour coming to the fore;
