MANIKATA CLIFF WALK on Friday 13 March – Mellieha Group

We took our Springer spaniel, Poppy, as usual (she has almost become the mascot of the walks!) and met everyone at the lay-by just past the quarry on the Mellieha to Manikata road.  There were ten of us all together.  We were so very lucky as the day was warm and sunny – perfect for a cliff walk.  Most hadn’t taken this walk before and everyone said how much they enjoyed it.  We took photos of the scenery and generally enjoyed a leisurely two-hours amble as far as just above the hotel at Golden Bay before climbing up higher to walk back closer to the long drop down to the sea. We were all ready for something to wet our whistles by the time we reached our cars so several of us headed to the Danish Village to do just that!
