An excellent talk was given by Andrei Xuereb, President and Instructor from The Malta Historical Fencing Association on the use of swords and other edged weapons from the 14th to the 19th Century.  This included a demonstration of European swordsmanship in single combat and self-defence.  Weapons that are displayed in museums in Malta were used to show certain techniques from treatises written by the European fencing masters of the past.
