Free flu vaccines for some people are available from all Government Health Centre’s between Monday 03/11/2014 and including Saturday 22/11/2014.
Most local councils and family GP’s are also participating in the vaccination campaign.
The vaccine is free of charge to:-
All persons of 55 years and over.
Children between 6 months and 59 months.
Persons of any age suffering from chronic diseases of the lungs, heart, liver, kidney, diabetes mellitus and any immunodeficiency conditions.
In the case of persons aged below 55 years of age, evidence of one of the above conditions confirmed by presenting a Schedule V- Control Card or a recent medical certificate can have the vaccine free.
Those persons over 55 years of age who have already registered with their local council or family GP should wait for notice from their respective council or GP and should NOT go to the Health Centre.
Carers of persons who are bed-bound who are unable to leave their home should call the MMDNA office on: – 21387526 from Mon-Sat, 11:00- 12:30pm and 1400:-15:30hrs, so that vaccination can be given at home by the MMDNA nurses.
Vaccination from Health Centre’s will take place from Health Centre’s Mon-Sat 10:00- noon.
There will be afternoon sessions on Malta at, Mosta, Floriana and Paola Health Centre’s from 1:7pm, Mon-Sat.
E-Residence cards must be shown and in the case of children, the immunisation record book/card must be shown.
Residents on Gozo are advised to contact their local Health Centre’s or GP’s to find out availability and venues etc.
