Weigh”Less” Together

St. Paul’s Bay Group have set up a weight loss afternoon, which will try to give you the support that will help to keep you focused and on-track.

We will not supply any eating plans as most of us are familiar with a great many of these supplied by numerous companies.  You can use any eating plan that you are familiar with and feel hat you are comfortable with.  The choice is yours.

However, we will point you in the direction of the UK National Health Service Website which carries a very comprehensive plan with a great deal of information.  The plan is designed to help you lose weight at a safe rate of 0.5kg to 1kg (1lb to 2lb) each week by sticking to a daily calorie allowance.  The plan is designed to help you lose weight safely – and keep it off.

The group will be designed on the idea of friendship and sharing. Meetings are once a week to weigh in which will be recorded on a weight card which is your property and then you will be free to chat amongst yourselves, ideas, recipes, where certain food items can be purchased, restaurants hat have “weight loss” friendly menu’s and many other subjects you can share.

We would like to point out that people who join us understand and accept that we are not dietitians or medical experts.  We are purely a support group.

It is important that you should seek professional advice from a doctor before starting any new weight loss plans.  Our BRA weight loss afternoon provides only supportive communication and some record keeping, not medical or diet advice.

The meetings take place at the St. Paul’s Bay Library, Olive Court B, Triq il-Bahhara, Qawra.  Thursdays from 2pm til 4pm.  More information will be provided in the library and in the next newsletter.

If you think ou many be interested in joining us, please pop into the library and put your name, Tel. No/Email Address on the form provided or alternatively drop us an email to info@britishresidentsinmalta.org
